Today was an action-packed day in the bee yard! I conducted about 30 inspections, checking on the health and status of each hive. I found some hives thriving with queens still producing brood, while others were broodless and had smaller populations. To ensure their survival and efficiency during the colder months, we consolidated some of the smaller hives, reducing their brood chambers to one box.
Most of the hives had a good amount of food, setting them up well for winter. I also noted several queens who were producing brood were two years old.
At SC Beautiful Bees, we're dedicated to ensuring our hives are healthy and ready for whatever the season brings. Stay tuned for more updates and insights from our bee yard!
